At this point in time, we are moving forward with the Fiddler's Convention this weekend. Although Appalachian State has been put on Condition 1 with incoming weather, we are looking forward to gathering with those who are able to still safely get to the 18th Annual Fiddler's Convention. If you are no longer able to attend and are a volunteer (judge, luthier, vendor, showcase participant, workshop leader) please email brookskd1@appstate.edu as soon as possible. If you are a contestant, participant or guest, we are sad that you cannot be with us but look forward to celebrating with you at next year's Fiddler's Convention.

Fiddler's Convention

The Fiddler's Convention is an annual celebration of traditional music and craftsmanship that brings together musicians, instrument makers, and music enthusiasts. Each year, the event features a vibrant slate of competitions, a curated Handmade Market, engaging workshops and presentations from community members and campus partners, and a special gathering for luthiers. This beloved event showcases the rich musical heritage of the region and provides a platform for both emerging and established musicians.

The convention offers a unique opportunity to experience traditional mountain music, learn from skilled artisans, and connect with a community passionate about preserving and celebrating musical traditions. This event is free for students and the public, making it an accessible and exciting experience for all music lovers.

We look forward to welcoming you to this celebration of musical artistry and community!
